River Line Reveals Exclusives On Third Ship In Ocean Fleet

Viking Cruises has just announced that they have received Viking Sky, the third ship in the line’s new ocean fleet, from Fincantieri Shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

The 930-passenger ship is a sister to Viking Sea and Viking Star and like its fleetmates, Viking Sky will have a strong focus on destinations. It will include few sea days as well as extended days and overnights in port for guests who wish to make the most of the destination.

The newest Viking vessel will share a similar look to Viking Sea and Viking Star. Fincantieri revealed details of the delivery in a statement and described it as a “Scandinavian-inspired design featuring sophisticated elegance”.

The ship also will include popular venues for Viking guests like The Kitchen Table, Manfredi’s Italian Grill and the Aquavit Terrace. Additionally, the ship will offer guests complimentary wine and beer at lunch and dinner, Wi-Fi, transfers and some specialty restaurants and excursions.

Viking Sky will sail its maiden voyage on February 25th before operating a series of Eastern and Western Mediterranean itineraries; she will then be christened on June 22nd under Norway’s Midnight Sun. The ship will continue its season in Scandinavia and the Baltic and will cross the Atlantic to sail the Americas and Caribbean in September this year.

Viking Sun and Viking Spirit will follow the line’s newest ship, debuting late 2017 and 2018. A sixth ship is also yet to be named and is predicted to launch in 2019.
