Breaking News: Princess Cruises Announces Brand New Ship

Breaking News: It’s just been announced that Princess Cruises have confirmed an order with Fincantieri, the Italian ship building yard, for a brand new cruise ship that will be ready to launch by 2019.

The new cruise liner will be sister ship to the Royal Princess (launched in Southampton by HRH, The Duchess of Cambridge in 2013), the Regal Princess (launched in 2014) and the Majestic Princess which is scheduled to be launched next year.

For all you statisticians and  cruise geeks out there she’ll weigh 143,000 tonnes, cost around 600 million Euros to build and will be capable of carrying 3,560 guests.

Including the as of yet to launch Majestic Princess, this will take Princess Cruises fleet to nineteen vessels.

Although very few details about the design have been announced yet Princess have confirmed the new ship will include all the best elements of previous ships including the vast central atrium hub with different dining venues leading off from it, multiple entertainment and retail venues, their signature Movies Under The Stars outdoor cinema experience, the top deck relaxation area known as the Sanctuary and of course a Lotus Spa (although we’re sure there’ll be lots more surprises announced as we get closer to her launch in 2019).

When approached Tony Roberts, vice president of Princess Cruises UK, commented to say: “We’re incredibly excited to confirm that Princess Cruises’ growth continues with the order of another royal class ship. Demand and confidence in Princess has never been higher and we’re delighted that in just a few years’ time even more guests will get the chance to travel with us in style to over 360 destinations across the world.”
However nothing has yet been said about where this brand new ship will cruise from or what she’ll be called.
