NCL Go All-Inclusive For Second Time And Sends Ship With Unlimited Drinks To Cuba

As demand for Cuba sailings continues to rise, Norwegian Cruise Line will deploy a second ship, Norwegian Sun, to the region.

The vessel will also serve as the line’s second alcohol-inclusive ship, after announcing their first ever all-inclusive ship back in April of this year.

Following a 2.5-week dry dock in April 2018, Port Canaveral will offer four-day itineraries to Havana and Key West (beginning May 2018), as well as three-day voyages to the Bahamas.

Norwegian Sun will also include soda, juice and alcohol in its fares, a concept introduced on Norwegian Sky in 2015.

Norwegian Sky will also stop at the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas and is the only Norwegian vessel to visit Cuba whilst  providing a beverage-inclusive experience.

Our all-inclusive model aboard Norwegian Sky has been very well-received, and as we evaluated the opportunity to expand upon that concept, we felt that Port Canaveral was the ideal location to offer our guests a value-rich on board experience and exciting action-packed ports-of-call, including an overnight call in Havana, Cuba’, Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer for Norwegian Cruise Line, commented in a statement.

Norwegian Sun was originally scheduled to sail into Alaska next summer, but instead the 2,376-passenger Norwegian Jewel will sail week-long Alaskan itineraries from Vancouver and Seward starting in early June.

Although President Donald Trump has voiced plans to announce a new policy regarding Cuba as a holiday destination, it seems cruise lines are determined to keep the Caribbean spot as a port of call.

Several other cruise lines have recently re-opened the route between Miami and Havana for the first time in over 50 years; Azamara Club Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Pearl Seas Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.

But, what are your thoughts on the news? Are you delighted that NCL have introduced the all-inclusive concept to yet another ship? What is your stance on cruising to Cuba? Do you support Norwegian’s decision to send their alcohol-inclusive vessel to Cuba? Leave us your thoughts and comments!
