How To Cruise On Benefits

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could spend your hard earned benefits on a cruise? Well thanks to one forward looking cruise line you now can!

Last July we announced changes a cruise line would be making to their loyalty programs in  countries such as France, the US, Germany and Italy…Those changes are now being introduced in the UK (you can read the article here).

From October 26th this year anyone cruising with MSC will be able to transfer any valid membership loyalty levels they’ve earned with other cruise lines, hotel companies or tour operators and apply them to their booking… Even if those levels were earned with a competitor!

To be known as Status Match, transferring your membership levels over will net you a 5% discount on your booking alongside a range of other perks depending on which tier you end up on; classic, silver, gold or black.

Giles Hawke, MSC’s excutive director in the UK commented to say…

“The Status Match programme has already proved to be a great success in other countries so it is great news guests in the UK can now enjoy its benefits. The scheme is a great way of encouraging those who have not tried MSC Cruises to join us and understand what our Mediterranean way of life is all about while retaining all the perks and privileges they are used to. We are sure the initiative will help our trade partners by encouraging customers to try something new. Selling MSC Cruises is great for agents, who benefit from best-in-class commissions, including pre-purchased extras such as shore excursions and drinks packages.”

To sign up for Status Match all you’ll need do is complete a registration form and provide proof of your existing loyalty club membership with another company.

What do you think of the move by MSC? Will it entice you into cruising with them?
