Fans of hit TV show “The Voice” will be excited to learn that Princess Cruises will soon be featuring the massively popular contest at sea.
Select cruises will feature “The Voice of the Ocean” in which any guests over sixteen years of age will be able to sing their hearts out to a panel of judges.
Wannabe stars can audition either during specially held karaoke session’s or direct in one of the ships lounges.
The initial rounds will be decided by guests and cruise staff judging if a singer is good enough to move to the next stage of the competition. Sadly Tom Jones and the other star guests won’t be on board, but the final judges will be comprised from high ranking staff on-board including the cruise director and the captain.
The judges will then choose their teams out of the remaining contestants and coach them until the competition ends. The winner will be chosen by the audience and awarded a trophy for their efforts.
Speaking about this announcement, Adrian Fischer (Vice President of Entertainment for Princess Cruises) said: “Whether guests are up on stage or in the audience deciding who gets their vote, we know The Voice of the Ocean will be a huge hit with Princess Guests.”
“Guests will feel like they are part of the globally popular TV show performing on a high tech set almost identical to the hit show, including rotating red chairs and a live Princess band with back-up singers. We’re excited to discover and foster undiscovered talent and offer guests a whole new way to express their love of music and performing.”
The competition will be available on the Regal Princess in October,and will follow to the Royal Princess and Caribbean Princess in November.
By May 2016, an additional eight ships will also feature The Voice of the Ocean.
