Celebrity Cruises have given cruise fans a teaser of their brand new ship, set to launch in March this year.
Billed as a game-changing event for the cruise industry, the launch of the Edge has been one of the most highly anticipated events on the cruise calendar.
So far we know very little about the vessel, but the rumour mill has been in full force about what Celebrity mean when they say that “something big is coming.”
The team here at www.cruise.co.uk have been scouring the internet to find out the craziest fan theories (and a few more believable ones!) that may give us a clue about what lies in store…
Rumour #1
This mysterious photo released today seems to show what looks like the edge of an infinity pool, fuelling rumours that Celebrity are going to introduce infinity pools on every balcony. Would you want an infinity pool on yours?

Carrying on with the balcony theme, another rumour we’ve heard is that the ship will follow in the footsteps of ultra luxury brands and offer 100% balcony cabins. We know that would be quite a popular decision on Celebrity’s part…

We know that the ship is going to be the first in its class, but don’t know much else other than the fact it will be smaller than Solstice but bigger than Millenium class ships… One leading rumour is that the ship’s “edge” will in fact be hole in the middle of the ship! Some fans have claimed they think the ship will have a shape more similar to a catamaran than a cruise ship, with a glass bottomed observation deck in the middle. We’re not so sure about this one…

Celebrity have told us that the ship will have to be seen in the sunlight to be truly appreciated, so another prevalent rumour is the idea that the top 4 decks will be entirely made of glass. Cabin bathrooms are rumoured to also have a glass wall (that only works one way, so you do have a bit of privacy!)

If the ship is as luxurious as promised, some fans claim that guests will be able to get on-board the ship via the vessels very own helipad! This ones not for those with a fear of heights then…

Other theories that surround the new feature of the ship is that it will have a marina attached to the back, so that guests can kayak, jet ski or snorkel off the back of the vessel. Perfect for those that don’t want to bother with a port day!
