Your worst nightmare on a cruise

I recently booked a friend of mine and her family , Dad, Niece and Nephew on their very first cruise. They went all out and we booked them on the brand new ‘ Harmony of the Seas. As you can imagine the excitement built week by week, I love being part of the build up. We booked excursions organised entertainment on board talked dress codes and also what they could do to celebrate her niece’s 18th birthday which was whilst they were on board. The week before my friend came round and we sorted through all the documentation so they were all set and really excited. On the day they travelled I was thinking about them all day from the time arriving at Manchester then arriving at Barcelona up to when they would of been getting on the ship.
It was a Sunday and I myself was working that day , late afternoon whilst I was on the phone to another customer my friend tried to get hold of me several times I was really worried thinking what could be wrong?
One of the four suitcases hadn’t turned up at Barcelona airport !! This suitcase had her niece’s prom dress in for the formal night , nephews suit and also presents and cards for her niece’s 18th and all her nephews clothes. This would be my worst nightmare. As they were going on a cruise they needed to catch the transfer to the ship and so they left the airport arriving at the ship should of been a happy time , having their photos taken etc but they bypassed that and went straight to the pursers desk to see if they could help and then called me.I couldn’t do anything to help on the Sunday but first thing on Monday morning I was on to the airline who gave me the tracking details. I just wanted for them to get the suitcase back before her nieces birthday and the formal night. Tuesday passed and the case was not found and then on Wednesday I was thrilled to know the case had been found and it was on its way to Pisa to meet the ship. I couldn’t get hold of them on the ship but was thrilled thinking that it would make their formal night. Or so I thought …….
The suitcase actually followed them round four different ports of call but never actually made it to the cruise ship. They then waited another week for it to be delivered to their home address. What a shame I was really upset for them but thankfully they didn’t let it ruin their cruise and went on to have a fantastic cruise.
