As far as December goes this one has been ….

Amazing up to now !!
As many of you will know December is a quieter month for us so we tend to take a lot of our holidays and time owing. For me I am only working 5 days officially although its hard to stay away from my laptop. I kicked off the month with our annual girls Christmas shopping weekend to Manchester. We get a mini bus to take us and pick us up as so much easier for us all and no one has to worry about driving and parking.

We managed to get some shopping done this year but still had time for cocktails , afternoon tea and some drinks at the Christmas markets.

I then had a few days to get my decorations up and unpack before I repacked for Cruise.co.uk’s annual conference. This year it was a destination with a difference !! We could not get a ship to accommodate us for dates and conference facilities etc so not wanting to go without we went to Butlins Skegness. Not sure what your reaction was to this but I’m sure mine was pretty similar. Although it is the only chance we get to all meet up so it is really a date not to miss.I went with my own blankets , towels , cups and glasses just in case as my last memories of Butlins were not great at all.However on arrival I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised the apartment we had was really quirky , modern and clean. Whilst we were there we listen to the different departments from our company along with the directors about how we are doing as a company and whats new for the future. We also have our friends from the cruise lines join us and hear the very latest news.
We have a compulsory fancy dress theme and as the theme of the weekend at Butlins was 60’s we followed suite. I dont know if you remember my fancy dress last year but it was a very comfortable Care Bear onesie well this year we went as the Dalmatians again in a comfortable onesie although that bit wasn’t planned I can definitely see a theme coming ….

We had a great time even though it wasn’t on a cruise ship although this year was a little emotional for me also. As you may know I am an identical twin and whilst I was away it was my birthday and whilst it was lovely to spend my birthday with 150 people who sang happy birthday to me it was the first time in 43 years I hadnt been with my sister.We did facetime each otherand she will probably not be happy with me sharing this photo!!

Back home and have caught up with work for a couple of days then it’s time to finish off my Christmas shopping and have some family time. I have lots more to fit in this month but I absolutely love this time of the year.
