There’s a GYM??

Ok so I have been cruising for many many years and selling cruises for even longer but have I ever used a Gym on board a ship? Well the answer is NO!!

I visit the gym and take pictures to share with you lovely people but have never donned my gym gear and actually gone in there to do a work out…

From now on that may change as back in July I joined my local Village Hotel gym as decided it’s time I get fit before I get too old to lose any excess weight and I have really got into it.  I did have to have a break for a couple of months due to illness so undid all the good work I had previously done but I am now back and can start again.

Before Xmas I started going again and now a month on I love it.  I love to do the classes like Zumba, Yoga, Tai Chi etc and Body Balance classes (lots of stretching). I try to go at least 4 times a week around my shifts so that could be morning before work or evening after work.  It’s also nice to leave the house as working from home can be a bit like cabin fever so going to the gym is a great excuse to leave the house and talk to people face to face.

I chat to lots of people who always ask what I do for a living so of course I tell them – business cards always in my gym bag and I’ve given a few out now – always working in this job.

Anyway back to the gym on a cruise ship – I shall now probably pack those trainers and gym gear for my forthcoming cruises and actually use the gym and do some classes to keep up my regime…

Do you use a gym on board?
If so, how many times?

I’d love to hear about it and any tips for me as I’ll be using the gym on board from now on!

At the Village gym there is also a 25m pool, sauna, steam room & jacuzzi which I always use after a class or a workout in the gym itself. A great way to unwind after a day’s work too. I do love a good jacuzzi as you’ll know if read my blogs!

My husband bought me a Fitbit for Christmas so can track all my activities too and monitor my food intake, calories burned and much more. He just leaves me to it to go as and when I please but never joins me!!

I used to teach aerobics when I was 21 years old till 24 when I got pregnant with my daughter Kim but have not really done much since so this new fitness regime is going well & I’m loving it.

Also cutting down on the wine & cigarettes so here is my replacement – ha ha!

I have 2 cruises booked so far so I will update you and let you know if I do use the gym (and drink wine). LOL
