Christmas 2017

As you know we headed off to Butlins for our Christmas Conference on 8th Dec for 3 nights, we had a great time. Can you spot me on the company photo?

Lots of fun training sessions with cruise suppliers were we played games and had quizzes.  A much better way to learn than just listening to someone talk so well done to Royal Caribbean Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, P&O Cruises, Fred Olsen Cruises, APT River Cruises, MSC Cruises – the sessions were very motivating and great fun!

A lot of staff won prizes too so well done to all you worthy winners! I won  a Fred Olsen goodie bag but no cruise for me this time….

Well what can I say about Butlins?  It was fantastic, the rooms were great, spacious and clean but just a long walk away from the centre if you stay in Gold accommodation, approx 15/20 min walk as we were the furthest away… where’s that gold buggy when you need it, especially after a few vinos!

The staff were amazing and very helpful, courteous and friendly.
The food was lovely and had some great meals & cakes.
The entertainment was fun and the 60’s bands were great – what we saw of them as had our own private room every evening with Karaoke which most of us took part in and was great fun.

I’ve been to Butlins 8 years ago with my previous employer but don’t recall having this much fun and we stayed in basic accommodation so this time was much better.

The Gold apartments where we stayed were lovely, 3 bedrooms, a living area & kitchen diner – very spacious and comfortable.  We were also lucky to get a ground floor too so even better.

The first night we had 60’s theme fancy dress – this was so much fun seeing everyone in their outfits, here are a few pictures so you get the idea….

The night was great fun, lots of singing & dancing.

The next day was Christmas Jumper/dress day so we all dressed up for the day in festive gear for another great day of training and conference sessions. We had lunch in our teams and we did secret santa which was funny!

This night was more dressy and again Karaoke was on. Here are a few pictures from the night…

On the 3rd night a lot of people had gone home who lived close by so not many of us left but still a great night – Karaoke again and a much earlier night as had to get up early for the coach journey home.

So that was conference and very enjoyable it was too.

On 14th December I attended The Big Travel Christmas Party in Birmingham with a few of my colleagues, this was a great night and we were with Silversea’s Cruises. The meal was lovely and we also had a George Michael tribute act – he was AMAZING – such a good voice and entertaining.  We all danced on the dance floor with him.

What do you think?

I’ve had a couple more Christmas parties which I’ve attended this last week so all partied out now and ready for a nice quiet Christmas after my daughter’s birthday on 23rd December.

May I take this opportunity to wish all my friends and customers a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!

I look forward to helping you find that perfect cruise holiday next year!
