Lesley Garrett, the Lady Taverner’s and Seabourn!!

On Sunday 24th September myself and my colleague Dee were extremely lucky to attend a great gala night called ‘Lesley Garrett & Friends’. In which, celebrated it’s 30th Anniversay of the Lady Taverners and 30 years of music in the Westend. The night began in the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The show consisted of music from Lesley Garrett herself, Ruthie Henshall (known for her many roles in the westend), Jacqui Dankworth (an amazing jazz singer), G4 (the runners up in the first season of X Factor) and The London Gay Men’s Chorus. It was such a great evening and I felt honored to be there. At the bottom of this blog you can watch a short video of the performance from The London Gay Men’s Chorus!! It was fabulous!!

Myself & Dee ready to watch the show.

Lesley Garrett is the current president of the Lady Taverners and was in charge of hosting for the evening and she was assisted by the former presidents; Judith Chalmers and Angela Rippon, who we also got to meet. So, a little more about the Lady Taverners. The Lord’s  & Lady’s Taverners ethos is ‘Giving young people a Sporting Chance’.

Here is what they mean by a Sporting Chance;
It’s the chance to interact, play and train
• The chance to compete, win and lose
• The chance to learn, have fun and make friends

Their mission is ‘to enhance the lives of disadvantaged and disabled young people through sport and recreation’. Whilst attending the Gala we learnt more about the Charity and what they do for young people. It really is a fantastic Charity and would be a great charity to get involved with.

Once the show had finished,  the guests who had a VIP After Party ticket (which included us) got to head around the corner to the amazing Haymarket Hotel for an exclusive Champagne After Party. Here we got to mingle with the stars. I got a few photos too.
