Christmas is nearly here!!!

I don’t know about all of you but I love this time of year. From shopping for presents to seeing if Santa has been (I have a 2 year old sister so it is still magical). I don’t have children yet so I still get to act like a kid with my 2 youngest siblings and I love it.

My family traditions at Christmas are amazing from start to finish. It all begins on Christmas eve, for the last 8 years or so myself and my little brother Lewis (who is now 14, where does the time go!!) attempt to make Mince Pies and while the tradition is that we make them it has also become a tradition that something goes wrong each year haha. Last years for example, there were 2 different types of just roll pastry in the fridge and of course we used the wrong one. We used to make them from scratch but they never turned out right. They are always edible but just not much to look at. But either way we love making them because it’s great quality time together and I can’t wait to see what happens this year….watch this space….you never know…this may be our year!! Around 6:30pm on Christmas Eve, myself, Lewis and my 2 year old sister Letty sit down in the living room and we each get our Christmas Eve box (which is a newer tradition). Then it is time to get Santa’s plate ready, milk and one of our mince pies for Santa and  a carrot for Rudolph.

Christmas and Cruising. This year my Mum and her partner are going on the Marella Discovery 2 for Christmas and New Year over to the Caribbean and wow are they going to have an amazing time. Christmas on-board looks amazing, with the extra special parties and a big Christmas Dinner and the great thing about being on a Cruise over Christmas is that you’re not lumbered with all the washing up on Christmas day. I love experiencing different things over the Christmas period, whether it be attending Winter Wonderland in London or going on the Steam Train to the North Pole (in Tenterden). Here we all are below; just having been on the Steam Train. For anyone who lives in Kent this is a great family day out as there are lots of activities as well as the ride on the steam train.

What family activities have you attended over the Christmas period? Do you have any recommendations?

Lots of people Cruise over Christmas and New Year but there are some great Cruises available on the lead up to Christmas, whether somewhere hot to top up your tan for the festive season with all the parties or a short Cruise over to one of the fabulous European Christmas Markets where you can get great Christmas gifts. There really is something for everyone.
