Cruise Documentaries to Return to TV

I never get bored of cruising and also love watching documentaries about cruising and  any form of travel , be it about actual journeys or  about ships, trains or planes and how  they are built and the engineering that goes into them.

I am pleased to see that the 2nd series of Cruising with Jane McDonald starts on the 1st September  and I can’t wait to see where she is off to this time. The last series was really good as it covered different parts of the world and different styles of cruising from Ocean cruising, River cruising  and even cruising around the highlands of Scotland in a small boat which was amazing. I’m especially looking forward to the first episode as she is going to be onboard the Viking Ocean Ship,  Viking Sky,  going around the Baltic. I am going on a Baltic cruise myself in October on NCL Getaway so I’m interested to see what the ports of call are like.  4 of the ports, Tallinn in Estonia, St Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm are the same ports that I will be visiting so I will get an insight of what to expect and help me decide what excursions to do.

Princess Cruises have also announced that its documentary which previously followed Royal and Regal princess has also been renewed. This has been renewed for 3 new series to be aired in 2018. Series 3 will follow Royal Princess in the Mediterranean for 6  30 minute episodes and this will be followed by 2 shorter series which will be 3 episodes each and will be filmed in Alaska and the Caribbean.

Easyjet have also a new documentary that’s started this month. This follows new recruits being trained to become pilots. The airline has launched a large drive to recruit more pilots from all walks of life, including a particular focus on hiring more female pilots. The programme follows the rookies as they take their first steps from the flight-school classroom, into the flight simulator and then flying with paying passengers aboard.

Have you watched any of these programmes? Does it Make you want to cruise or put you off? I haven’t seen the Easyjet documentary yet, maybe that’s a good thing! What do you think?
