Joan Collins the glamorous Godmother

Its has just been released that the Boutique River line Uniworld have chosen the fantastic actress Joan Collins to be the Godmother of their brand new ship. The S.S Joie De Vivre is the newest super ship and will be the first of its kind to sail the River Seine.

After the Paris Terror attacks it was a bit hit and miss as weather they were going to go ahead with the build of the new ship but after bringing passengers to Paris for more then 70 years they decided that it was more important then ever to show their support for the city and to carry on travelling the rivers.

I love Joan Collins she played the best onscreen Bitch on our TV screens in Dynasty and she has aged gracefully and looks more glamorous then ever at the grand age of 83.

She will be joining the christening ceremony on the 27th March 2017 where she will bestow good fortune over it and all that sail in her. Being a big fan of France Joan holds a residence there and can always be seen in the front row of Paris fashion week so she will fit in perfectly with the beautiful Uniworld brand.

The S.S. Joie de Vivre will sail Uniworld’s popular Paris & Normandy itinerary, and was built at 125 meters as opposed to the standard 135 meters, allowing it to dock in the heart of Paris. The luxurious 128-passenger vessel will feature two Royal Suites, eight Junior Suites and 54 staterooms. All rooms will have made-to-order Savoir of England beds and marble-lined bathrooms.

The ship will be stunning and such a lovely way to sail some of the most beautiful rivers in the world. I think the river cruising option can work very well for guests who my have done many ocean itineraries and are looking for something different at a slower pace and a real touch of class and elegance on board.

Dame Joan Collins has been quoted as saying – “I hold France and its ‘City of Light’ close to my heart, and now, thanks to Uniworld, my ties to the beautiful country are even closer,”

“I am honoured to be the Godmother of the S.S. Joie de Vivre and welcome guests from all over the world to fall in love with Paris just as I have.”

What a honor to be the Godmother of such a  beautiful ship i hope that they give her lots of free holidays on board in return.
