For those thrill seekers who want to do more than sunbathe…..

How much has cruising changed in the last ten years and it shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Gone are the days of lounging round the pool or taking a leisurely stroll round deck or in port.

These days super ships offer everything and for those of us who are seeking thrills and excitement when we step on board taking a cruise holiday could be the best place to try something you’ve never dared to before.

If this sounds like its right up your street then check out my guide for the best cruise lines to holiday with to get that adrenaline pumping. Warning ..not for the light hearted.

1.ROYAL CARIBBEAN- QUANTUM CLASS

If you book the Anthem or Ovation of the seas then you feel like your parachuting through the air on the RIPCORD by Ifly. It’s a wind tunnel which acts like a skydive chamber and you get to experience the free falling effect and wind in your hair like never before.

2.CARNIVAL VISTA

Get a real birds eye view whilst on board this ship by riding the sky rider a bike which is suspended 150 ft above the sea. Guests can use their pedal power and cycle round the 800ft two lane track. A perfect way for you to burn some calories and get some of the best views of the open ocean.

3.ANTHEM OF THE SEAS

The North Star capsule  takes passengers 300 ft above the water for 360-degree views. The pod hangs over the side of the ship and has the same sort of look as the pods of the London Eye. Book an appointment and get a real unique experience.

4.CRYSTAL CRUISES

Crystals luxury yacht E spirit offers trips on a state of art deep see submersive. The C- Explorer 3 holds a pilot and two passengers and can dive to 1000 ft with a 360 degree clear hull. This is a perfect opportunity to view the marine life in its natural habitat.

5.NCL ESCAPE

This ship boats the biggest and best rope course at sea. Its features a three story course with five sky rails to zipline and two planks to walk over the side of the ship. In total there are 99 components to the ship so will definitely keep you occupied for an afternoon at sea.

6.MSC DRAG RACING

If you fancy getting up to 200 miles per hour and get the need for speed then the MSC Fantasia class ships will be perfect for you. On board they offer a F1 simulator that lets passengers climb into the drivers seats of a model car and feel every bump , bounce and whine just like the real thing….Drivers start your engines.

7.SEADREAM YACHTS

If water sports are your bag then you won’t go wrong on this luxury line. Head to the back of the ship where you will find a retractable water sports platform offering you jet skis , paddleboards , glass bottomed kayaks and laser sailboats. It gives you the chance to have some fun and even get some tips and instructions from the qualified experts on hand.

Of course this is not for everyone so if this blog makes you feel tired just reading it then relax and put your feet up ,go to the Spa or lounge in the solarium. Have a few cocktails and watch all the others on board work up a sweat. That’s the beauty of cruising you can do as much or as little as you like.
