Captain of Vista should of gone to Spec savers !!

The Captain of the Carnival Vista may have some explaining to do as it has been reported that the brand new ship has smashed into the port at Messina Italy causing a huge amount of damage and upset in the town.

The ship was leaving the port when it got to close to the pier and the small boats that were docked next to it. It was the thrust from the ship that caused the damage and has destroyed two piers, a number of ancillary facilities and dozens of small ships.

Thankfully nobody has been injured or hurt and the port is still in working order but there will be a full investigation into exactly what happened. The ship itself didn’t suffer any damage and it was thought that there was actually no announcement or issue made on board to advise passengers of what happened just a small delay in departure.

The Carnival Vista is such a lovely ship and was only launched in June 2016. It has loads of brilliant features on board such as the Carnival Multiplex 3D Cinema, the Skyride where you strap into a bike course above deck, mini bowling, the red frog pub and brewery, Private adults only retreat just to name but  a few.

It has proved extremely popular with the British market as it gives them a great opportunity to sample a large American ship going around the Med without having to fly out to the Caribbean.

Thankfully incidents involving big cruise ships are very rare and more and more holiday makers are choosing to cruise, especially out of Southampton as fears of flying have risen over the years.

As many of you have cruised before you will know that one of the first things you do when you get on board your cruise holiday is go to the Muster drill and all meet up in your muster station.

The staff on board run through what to do and where to go in the event of an emergency and all cabins have life jackets inside for all members of your family.

You don’t get any of that in your All Inclusive hotels so really cruising is the safest way to holiday.
