Are you all at Sea ??

RELAX

Last week I spent a few hours searching for some cruises for a customer that was looking for a Caribbean sailing in the winter months. After having a good look I came up with a brilliant cruise on the Anthem of the seas doing a lovely itinerary. I was surprised when the client dismissed the cruise due to their being to many days at sea.

I don’t know your thoughts on this but me personally can I just say that the more days at sea the better sometimes.

Don’t get me wrong a lot of us cruise so we can go and see the world and investigate each and every port and get the most out of your one day in each stop. I love that and it’s a brilliant part of cruising. Having said that though please do not underestimate a good old day at sea for nothing more than RELAXATION !!!

The beauty of doing nothing is a real luxury especially to those who have busy lives juggling work and family etc. A sea day is a real opportunity to just slow it all down and simply do nothing…..to me that’s a luxury.

The sea days give you the opportunity to also really investigate the ship you’re on. For instance the Anthem of the Seas has so much going on on board that when you’re in port you are too busy off on tour excursions or exploring to worry to much about the ship and sometimes don’t get the most of everything on offer.

If rest and relaxation isn’t on your agenda then use a sea day to go and play shuffleboard, ride a flow rider , zip along a zip wire or fly in the rip cord.

For the best experience on board I would recommend if you have been to a port several times before on an itinerary use that day as your own sea day – while everyone’s getting off , stay on and experience the tranquility of being on board on your own with a mere few and your pick of a sun lounger or bar stool all to yourself.

Also days at sea can give you the opportunity to meet new friends and really get involved with your fellow cruises if you fancy being really sociable you can get involved in the on board activities by playing the pool games or starting a game of basketball on the sports decks.

As I said a sea day to me equals a day of indulgent bliss. My perfect day would consist of a pamper in the Spa, a sample of a few cocktails and some sweet treats round the pool. I would then spend a couple of hours getting lost in a book , in a quite area on a lounge bed in a solarium. I would then have a dip in the hot tub and pool and maybe a little afternoon nap before getting dolled up for dinner. Days at Sea ………what more could you want.
