That’s Right you heard me. Not to go….
Is it something you have been considering? Perhaps you have been on ocean cruises and want to try it? Or perhaps you have never cruised at all and this appeals to you?
River cruising is nothing like Ocean Cruising so let’s get that myth out of the way. If I had to sum it up it is more like a floating city break experience than a cruise.
So take a Look and decide for yourself.
Here are my 10 Reasons not to take a River cruise
5. You love to rush your food or leave before the end of the meal so you don’t miss the Latest Broadway show or Magic act taking place at the other end of the ship. On a River cruise, you just saunter through after dinner, take a seat with your drink in the lounge and relax while a local performer sings or piano plays in the background whilst you to talk to your fellow guests.
6. You love getting a coach from an industrial port to the nearest shopping centre. So a river Cruise has no appeal with the ability to walk from your river ship right into a medieval town with charming cafés, Cobbled streets and historic ruins.
7. You love nothing better than wall to wall children, all running riot around the pool area and the ship until all hours of the night. If so river cruises aren’t for you. There are no onboards programs for very small children and some cruises are either adult only or only allow children aged 8-12. There are some family orientated itineraries but they are few and far between.
8. Your idea of fun is a booze cruise in the Caribbean or a karaoke bar. River cruising is not for you. After all who would prefer a pub crawl in Germany or wine tasting to that?
9. You just can’t live without a climbing wall, ice skating rink, robot bar tender, flow rider, viewing orb or one of the many other countless innovations on board ocean cruise ships. After all who wants to sit and put the world to rights in great company with a glass of their favourite tipple as the boat glides silently along a river.
10. You are fixated on price. After all a bargain Cruise, could cost you £80 to £100 a night. River cruises are not cheap and don’t pretend to be although we do get some great offers. But when you add up what is included in the cost the value for money is outstanding.
If you can’t live without the things mentioned, then River Cruising really isn’t for you and perhaps the River cruising community would not want you either.
What is your verdict?
