Lapland here we come….

and I’m beyond excited!! It’s been the best kept secret in our family for the past few months and I just can’t wait to wake Sofia up and tell her where we are going to. She has no idea as we decided to keep it as a surprise until the very morning we leave for the airport and will be waking her up very early with a letter inviting her to visit Santa Claus! Sofia is at a perfect age, 5 almost 6 and I really can’t wait to see the look on her face.

We’ve booked a day trip so we know it’s going to be hectic and a very early start so are prepared for this, and who knows we may go back next year for longer. I have to say my husband needed a little bit of persuasion as he thought it was a lot to do in just one day and a very long way to go…plus quite pricey for just a day! |I have to say he is now just as excited as I am and can’t wait to get there. It will be worth every penny for us to have this amazing experience with Sofia.

Our day trip will begin with a 3 hour flight to Enontekio , the elves will be there to meet us at Manchester airport and we’ll met the other end for our transfer which will be a sleigh ride!!  Included in our day will be Husky sleigh rides, Reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobiles, snow igloo visits, sledging, toboggans, and of course the main event a sleigh ride to meet the man himself Santa!!! Magical is the word I keep reading when I look at the reviews and looking at all the photos I’m sure it is going to be that and so much more.

Anyone that knows me knows I’m always cold…it doesn’t matter where I am I feel the cold so I have been busy buying lots of thermal layers for us all. They do provide snow suits and boots for us when we arrive which is great but layers I think will be the key to us staying warm. Temperatures are varying at the moment from -1 to -25/30 degrees…such a big difference so I am making sure we are well prepared. Friends of ours have just got back and it was a freezing -35! It will be what it will be for our trip….but I’m hoping not so freezing!
